Since 1994, I have been dancing, listening, hosting, producing, and DJing. In 1986 started first shift on an alternative new wave station in St. Louis, KYMC 89.7FM. From there, moved to San Francisco where I was 1 of 5 founders for Thump Radio which was broadcasted on KUSF 90.3FM and ALICE 97.3. There were many more stations in the mix such as K-BIG 104 in Los Angeles, The Move XM Satellite Radio Ch 80 with shows, Thump Radio, TRIP and Red Bull on the Move.
There was a time you could say I had interviewed or recorded almost everyone in the business. I was extremely fortunate to have been surrounded by such amazing people who helped open doors that allowed me to sit down with the likes of Boy George at Ruby Skye in San Francisco, Underworld at 1015 Folsom SF, an evening with Crystal Method interview and dinner out. The many fun adventures with the Hybrid boys and getting crazy with Infected Mushroom and Astral Projection. Just to name a few...
So many amazing local SF residents and an incredible wealth of talent worldwide in every genre. It all came to a peak for someone who loves 4/4 beats when I was invited to interview Danny Tenaglia himself at his loft in Queens, New York.
After 15+ years of keeping Below Zero going, first on ENERGY 92.7FM followed by the long running podcast, which was my downbeat show started with friends in 2005, it was time to end the entire run in July 2020 on my 50th birthday. From 16 years old to 50 years old and too many insane stories to share but what an incredible 34-year journey.
The late-night clubs and fabulous parties are no longer on my social calendar. The aggressive social media chase to be recognized waned for me in the last few years. Finally, work and family have taken me to a place where there simply is not the same magical scene that can be found in San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York.
As Romeo Void would say, Never Say Never. So, my new journey will be called simply, Prismatic.
A highly colored brilliant journey. Just because it ended does not mean I do not have all the archives of recordings, interviews, and live sets. It also does not mean that I occasionally do not belt out a set of my own.
